Thiptawan Uchai loves acting, knowing various characters, and understanding their motivations. Since she started to pursue acting, the world of theatre has been a classroom and a lab for her to explore the value of our being. From an actress on stage, she followed her passion and became an applied theatre practitioner. She believes in learning through theatre and creating social change with the art form that she loves. Thiptawan currently teaches Acting and Theatre for Development at the Faculty of Communication Arts, Bangkok University. She has partnered with her close friend who shares the same enthusiasm about Theatre for Development and co-founded “Self-Factory”, a company that uses theatre practices as a tool to develop organizational and individual strengths within professional context to build self-esteem and happiness to be one’s self.
Thiptawan Uchai earned a BA in Dramatic Arts from the Faculty of Arts, Chulalongkorn University and an MA in Applied Theatre from University of Victoria, Canada.
Apart from enjoying theatre and art that reflects different worldviews, Thiptawan loves to travel to new places and chat with people with dissenting opinions. At home, she loves to decorate her house, read in a quiet corner, drink coffee, and talk to her dog.
