Nonpartisanship Policy
Amidst political tensions in Thailand, Thai Theatre Foundation is fully aware of the full range of views on the political spectrum among our constituents. We also strongly believe that the theatre arts are for everyone, regardless of their political affiliations. As a result, Thai Theatre Foundation is committed to a nonpartisan strategy with the aim of achieving a truly equitable Thai theatre field.
Working among ourselves
Thai Theatre Foundation remains nonpartisan when communicating and collaborating with the diverse contemporary Thai theatre community. We do not favor any political parties or ideologies. Practicing nonpartisanship does not necessarily mean that we silence our constituents on political matters. Guided by our core values — Equity, Diversity and Inclusion — we respect everyone’s right to freedom of expression. TTF, as a service organization, simply does not comment on any political stances.
Working with the public sector
Thai Theatre Foundation practices nonpartisanship when advocating pressing issues. We do not endorse any political parties, although soft credits may be given to political parties and elected officials who support our causes. Practicing nonpartisanship does not necessarily mean that we are removed from politics and silent on issues that affect the contemporary Thai theatre. In fact, we consider all aspects of the Thai politics and always focus on ideas, not people or parties.
IRS Requirements in the us
Under the Internal Revenue Code, all section 501(c)(3) organizations are absolutely prohibited from directly or indirectly participating in, or intervening in, any political campaign on behalf of (or in opposition to) any candidate for elective public office. Contributions to political campaign funds or public statements of position (verbal or written) made on behalf of the organization in favor of or in opposition to any candidate for public office clearly violate the prohibition against political campaign activity. Violating this prohibition may result in denial or revocation of tax-exempt status and the imposition of certain excise taxes.
