Thai Theatre Foundation was incorporated under the name “Thai Theatre Foundation, Inc.” as a nonprofit organization in New York, USA on May 2, 2019. The board of directors of Thai Theatre Foundation in the US consists of 8 directors. 

 
 

President

Nana Dakin

Nana Dakin is an NYC based Thai-American director of new plays, classics and devised performance. Having grown up in multiple countries, her outlook is informed by diverse social and political experiences. Her work pursues social equity by examining the way culture is constructed and unsettling dormant biases. Recent projects include the world premiere of "White Pearl" by Anchuli Felicia King at The Royal Court Theatre in London and an all-female production of Shakespeare’s "Richard III" at the Lenfest Center for the Arts in New York City.

Nana holds a BA in Liberal Arts from Sarah Lawrence College and an MFA in Theatre Directing from Columbia University. She is an Associate Member of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Society (SDC), a core member of B-Floor Theatre, Thailand’s vanguard physical theatre company, and the President of the Board of Directors of the Thai Theatre Foundation (TTF).

Nana loves coffee, food, travel, and experiencing art of all kinds.

Pacharakamol Chantri

Pacharakamol Chantri, a stage actor from Thailand fascinated by the art of theatre, has expanded herself in theatre career by focusing her talents on scholarly professional training in the US, in addition to acting training. Now she serves Thai Theatre Foundation as the secretary.

Pacharakamol has a BA in Dramatic Arts from Chulalongkorn University, a 2-year acting training at HB Studio, and an MA in Theatre from Hunter College.

A new mom, Pacharakamol loves theatre, cooking, yoga, swimming and handcrafts. She will be happiest when she takes her daughter out to feel the sun and sea breeze.

Raksak Kongseng

With an interdisciplinary background, Raksak Kongseng straddles two worlds – the world of theatre and the world of business management. She served as a stage manager and a project manager in multiple events both in Thailand and the US before transitioning into arts administration. She currently works at Theatre Communications Group (TCG) in New York as an Operations and Special Projects Manager. She is also the founder and the Executive Director of Thai Theatre Foundation (TTF).

Raksak holds a BA in Dramatic Arts from Chulalongkorn University and an MS in Arts Administration from Boston University. She was a Graduate Visiting Student in Finance and Accounting at Columbia University.

Raksak enjoys theatre, Thai poetry, politics, and, of course, Thai food!

Sasithorn Panichnok

Heen Sasithorn Panichnok is an actor based in NYC and Thailand. She grew up in Bangkok where she received her BA in Acting and Directing from Chulalongkorn University. She has been featured in many Thai commercials, television shows, theatrical productions and feature films such as, "Jan Dara", "Taloompuk", and most recently, "The Island Funeral". Heen holds an MFA in acting from The Actors Studio Drama School at Pace University in New York City. Theatre credits include, "Boeing Boeing" by Marc Camoletti, "Clôture de l'amure" by Pascal Rembert, "Lifex3" by Yasmina Reza and most recently, “Agnes of God” by John Pielmeier.

Heen is a part-time acting teacher, and has been an adjunct at two top Thai universities; Chulalongkorn University and Bangkok University. She co-founded the theatre company, LiFE Theatre, which has been putting on productions for over ten years as well as running acting and directing workshops.

Heen is also an avid scuba diver and has a deep appreciation of the under water world and its constantly threatened habitat.

Dee-Jai Cowles

Dee-Jai Cowles is a Thai-American, born and raised between Thailand and Vermont.  The majority of his education and life was in Vermont but with time spent in Thailand as frequently as possible with many extended stays.  He has a background in Light Design and Theatrical electrics work.  Through his college career he has worked on productions all over New England.  Now no longer working in professional theatre, he works as a Thai-English translator/interpreter, but he tries to stay involved with the arts.

He received his BA in Theatre from Saint Michael’s College, Colchester and is still learning everyday.

Dee-Jai loves to cook, eat, read, spend time outdoors, consume art of all kinds, and tend to his garden.
