Mission and Program

Thai Theatre Foundation exists to support and strengthen contemporary Thai theatre. We envision contemporary Thai theatre that grows strongly and sustainably. Our goal is to provide contemporary Thai theatre with resources conducive to operating effectively and equitably. We operate with our core values — Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion — as guiding principles.

Programs

Theatre Fund

Theatre Fund strives to make grants to contemporary Thai theatres and/or theatre service organizations. We offer two types of grants: Operating Grants, and Partnership Grants.

Theatre Classroom

The purposes of the Theatre Classroom program are to share knowledge in the realm of Performing Arts Administration and to stimulate knowledge exchange among the contemporary Thai theatre. Activities of the Theatre Classroom program include both one-way and two-way communications — via articles, critiques, podcasts, videos, and webinars.

Theatre Hub

Thai artists and arts administrators are everywhere, both in Thailand and abroad. The Theatre Hub program connects and facilitates communications between artists, theatre companies, arts administrators, and theatre goers. We believe that the more we talk, the clearer we see the picture, thus the further we can go.

Theatre Survey

To be uninformed is to be in the dark. Theatre Survey sheds light on the current standing of the contemporary Thai theatre and highlights areas of development. The program surveys both artists, theatre companies, and theatre goers through the lens of Performing Arts Administration. We publish the findings in our annual report “Theatre Goers - Theatre Makers”.

Theatre Consultant

No two performances are identical. The same can be said about Performing Arts Administration. Every issue has its own context and challenges. The Theatre Consultant program offers consulting services in the area of Performing Arts Administration to theatre companies and service organizations on a case-by-case basis at no costs.

Theatre Advocacy

Thai Theatre Foundation is an effort from the civil society to move the contemporary Thai theatre forward. The Theatre Advocacy program advocates the contemporary theatre within the Thai government sector. We work with representatives, government officers, executives, policy makers, business people on a nonpartisan basis to generate measurable and official supports from the government and to create an ecology that truly benefits everyone in the contemporary Thai theatre field.
